Director of Communications

Salary: Dependent on experience

MUBI is looking to appoint a Director of Communications to oversee all communications for MUBI globally. This person will have extensive contacts in the film industry, and be able to represent MUBI at events, panels and with key contacts. They will have experience handling PR agencies, freelancers, talent, film festivals, events, red carpets and is passionate about film.

Specific duties will include:

• Managing our relationship with all PR agencies globally;
• Draft press releases around the theatrical releases, acquisitions, partnerships and all other relevant activities;
• Coordinate and oversee all communication and press activities;
• Collate current communications ensuring the spread through our social media;
• Oversee the annual PR and communications budget;
• Monitor news in the industry;
• Set and develop a comms strategy;
• Maintain relationships with partners, press everywhere MUBI is present;
• Raise MUBI’s global image by arranging events, junkets;
• Update and maintain the MUBI website press section.
• Management of talent and logistics for festivals, previews, press junkets, red carpets and other events

Ideal candidate:

• 5+ years experience in communications/marketing or PR;
• Passionate about film;
• Well connected in the industry with extensive knowledge about the media landscape;
• Confident and effective public speaker;
• Strong writing skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Hard working, fast learning, thrives in a flexible, fast-paced environment;
• Team player;
• Interested and available in work travel and attending festivals.
