Salary: £34,602 - 40,545

The BFI is looking for a Coordinator to provide efficient and proactive management and diary support to the Director of Collections Operations, extending to wider strategic support for the Collections Operations department.

The Collections Operations teams have the responsibilities of care and access to the collections, working collaboratively with Collections, Learning and Engagement teams.  

The departments activities span data & digital preservation, film, video and audio conservation, engineering for sustaining and innovating archive technologies, delivery of national television archive television recording, vaults and collection care across both archive sites and teams that focus on archive access services for the collections, including research access, supporting rightsholder access and licensing footage.

Role details
Role responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Collections Operations in planning, communicating and managing the activity of the department, the BFI National Archive’s Conservation Centre and providing full and confidential financial, strategic, business, administrative and personal assistance 
  • Manage programmes, deadlines and relationships within the department and externally 
  • Ensure the management of information, compilation of reports, statistics and other evidence gathering to enable the smooth operation of the Conservation Centre. 
Person specifications
  • Experience of working in a professional administrative capacity, including inbox and diary management, minute taking and an understanding of financial processes. 
  • Experience of coordinating across a number of teams, undertaking research and supporting on drafting departmental documents and policies 
  • Demonstrate discretion and professional judgement while handling confidential and sensitive information.
