London

Salary: £25,643

BIFA is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive Communications Assistant to support our communications across all of our activity – industry and public facing.
Role details
Role responsibilities

The successful candidate will work across all aspects of the organisation’s activities: the annual awards, industry programmes and ongoing social campaign. This is a unique opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic independent film fan with a flair for comms and admin. This role would suit a motivated, creative and reliable forward thinker, who enjoys working as part of a small team.

As well as being the first point of call for external communications across all aspects of BIFA’s work, you will assist in the delivery of effective social media and email campaigns to support BIFA’s annual activities. The role will input into wider marketing plans and campaign activities, attending film screenings and industry events where needed. We’re a very small team so everyone gets involved in everything and effective public communication is essential to the impact of all aspects of our work. Therefore you’ll be supporting the comms and administrative efforts that underpin our high profile events and programmes – our award ceremony, our training and talent development programmes and our audience development work.

Person specifications

Organisation, communication and attention to detail: We are looking for someone with a flair and affinity for coordinating intricate administrative projects and with exceptional verbal and written communication skills across a variety of different registers and tones (social media, partner presentations etc.).

Time management and multi-tasking: We are a small team, our awards timeline gets very tight especially in the Autumn and lots of things happen at once, so a calm head under pressure is also very important
