White City House Screening Rooms, located in the heart of the BBC Television Centre White City, is looking for a full-time projectionist. This new build complements our existing five screening rooms in the UK and is our very first three-screen site. Screen 1 has 51 seats, Screen 2 has 37 seats, and the third screening room, complete with post production facilities, has 32 seats
Providing daily screenings for our members as well as regular events, we will be screening 35 different films a week. Equally popular for private hire, our clients range from premieres, film festivals, distributor screenings, press launches, private parties and filmmakers’ rushes.
The site will be fully digital with 4K laser phosphor projection in all screens, Dolby Atmos, 3D and satellite capabilities, as such the position requires a wide range of skills including knowledge and experience in all forms of film and video formats; AV/IT knowledge and experience is preferred as well as the ability to work with different computer systems and processes. Post production experience will be considered an asset.
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years technical cinema experience and be able to work well within a team, liaise with clients, be flexible and with a readiness to be completely hands-on. Candidates will be required to work 40-45 hours a week, weekend work included, and be flexible to work across other Soho House & Co sites like the Electric Cinema Portobello and Soho House 76 Dean Street.
