In partnership with the Independent Cinema Office, Depot cinema in Lewes have a new and exciting vacancy for a Young Audiences Coordinator. This new role is funded in partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) and is offered on a fixed term basis until March 2019.
The objective of the role is to develop a new network of Young Programmers’ groups across the region (including Berkshire, East Sussex, Kent, Surrey and West Sussex), working with a range of organisations found in places where cinema provision for young and diverse audiences remains inconsistent and/or below average. The groups should encourage participation from young people in cultural cinema and provide young programmers with the knowledge, skills and opportunity to deliver successful film programmes to their peer groups.
Travel will be required on a weekly basis and the successful candidate will need to organise their own transport. Mileage/public transport fares will be reimbursed. Flexibility will be required regarding the working week but it is anticipated that the 20 hours will be split over 3 days. 1 day minimum each week is to be worked from the office at Depot cinema in Lewes.
