Technical Supervisor and Duty Manager

The Picture House Uckfield, a leading independent cinema in East Sussex, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Supervisor and Duty Manager to oversee daily operations on specified shifts.

Responsibilities include:

• The technical presentation of films, monitoring sound levels and picture quality
• Customer care and being able to resolve any customer issues in the absence of the senior management team.
• Supervising the Front of House staff in their regular duties
• Assisting the Front of House team, including working behind the counter selling tickets and concessions or seating customers when required
• Managing staff absence or sickness on a shift by shift basis, including organising last minute cover
• Maintaining the security of the building and the cash safe
• Reconciliation of monies
• Managing customers and staff in an emergency situation.
• Reporting end of night figures to Comscore and DCM
• Promptly informing the senior management team of any relevant information, including but not limited to technical, staff, customer or financial issues, which occurred during a shift
• Any other duties, as seen fit by the senior management team

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in the leisure or entertainment sectors, with prior experience of cinema or theatre front of house advantageous. Previous experience in a customer service environment is essential, as are cash handling skills and computer literacy.

Digital projection experience is desirable, along with an understanding of live satellite events, as this role includes Projectionist duties. However, a willingness to learn is essential, as training will be provided.

Up to 32 hours per week, based on a regular monthly rota, including regular evening and weekend work. Please note there is a requirement to work over any of the seven days with regular work at evenings and weekends.
