The eagerly awaited follow-up to Jacques Audiard’s Read My Lips premiered at Berlin Film Festival 2005 and enjoyed a fantastic box office success in France and the UK.

Based on James Toback’s cult film FingersThe Beat My Heart Skipped is a noirish character study set in a Parisian underworld.

Tom Seyr (Romain Duris – L’Auberge Espagnol) works in the shady world of real estate. He appears to be unavoidably following his father’s footsteps into a life of violent crime.

However, a chance encounter with his late mother’s music agent rekindles a desire for a musical career as a concert pianist. He begins to practise fervently for the highly sought after audition that has been offered to him.

Increasingly torn between the opposing worlds he occupies, his work and his relationship with father begin to suffer. His day-to-day decisions take on an ever increasing importance as the pressure mounts for Tom.
