Zoë Naylor (Programming and Development Officer)

After graduating with a degree in History of Art, Architecture, Design and Film at Leicester Polytechnic, Zoë started her career in regional repertory theatre working for Alan Ayckbourn in various front of house roles after a brief stint behind the scenes. In the mid 90s as Theatre Manager she oversaw the theatre's move to Scarborough's restored and redeveloped Odeon cinema where she set up, managed and programmed the theatre's cinema screen. With the bright lights of London beckoning she reluctantly left the sea and countryside behind to manage several West End cinemas for Virgin for three years before moving from their flagship site in 2001 to work at the Programming Unit at the British Film Institute offering programming advice to cinemas and curating seasons for the bfi's commercial partnerships. In 2003 she became responsible for the bfi's touring output curating festival tours alongside National Film Theatre season tours. Taking two years out for her biggest achievement to date, motherhood, she is very pleased to be joining the ICO and getting back into the wonderful world of theatrical film once again.
