Ian Wild (Director, Showroom Cinema)
After working for a commercial cinema chain for several years, Ian decided to move into the independent sector following a visit to the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol. After briefly working for an independent cinema, he changed direction and spent several happy years as a cultural industries development officer in Sheffield. In 1994, he was appointed to the post of director of the Showroom cinema, which opened in 1995. In 2001, he was appointed to the post of Chief Executive, taking additional responsibility for the Workstation cultural industries business centre. Ian has extensive experience of business planning, capital fundraising and managing large publicly funded projects.
