George Clark (Artists' Moving Image Development Officer)
George studied BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins graduating in 2003. While still a student he set up and ran the college Film Society and began writing widely on moving image work for Senses of Cinema and Vertigo magazine among others. He organised a retrospective of Miklos Jancso for the Riverside Studios in 2003. He has contributed to a variety of artists moving image projects including ‘Optics: Cinema, Vision and Optical Machines’ at Curzon Soho to accompany Haywood Exhibition ‘Eyes Lies and Illusion’, assisted with the LUX touring programme ‘Reverence: The Films of Owen Land’ and the ‘LFF Experimenta’ tour in 2005. He curated the artists’ film and video section ‘Without Boundaries’ at Brief Encounters Short Film Festival in 2005 that will tour to the ICA in June. George recently developed a website for LUX dedicated to all aspects of showing artists film and video in the UK.
