The director of Historias minimas returns with another modest story set against the vast expanses of Patagonia. Juan is a middle-aged mechanic made redundant after 20 years. One day he helps a stranded motorist and is paid with a purebred Dogo Argentino named Bombon, a dog almost twice his size. It's the start of a beautiful friendship. Aided by a trainer, Juan discovers the world of dog shows, where he will reclaim his dignity and discover a new calling. With excellent performances from a largely non-professional cast, Bombón wins best of show, hands down.

Bombón will be released in the UK later this year.
