Young Film Programmers Online Course

This online course is an information and training resource for young people interested in film programming. It is great for those in a Young Film Programmer Group (YFPG) in the Young Film Network South East (YFN). A YFPG is a facilitated group of 16–25 year olds who meet on a regular basis to increase their knowledge of independent film. They curate, programme, plan, market and host regular screenings, sharing their voice with a wider audience. This usually happens in an independent cinema setting, but can be in any venue. The YFN operates across Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey and Sussex. We offer training, networking and opportunities in the film industry to develop your career. If you are interested in finding out about a YFP group local to you, please head to our microsite. Please note: You do not have to be based in the South East to access this course, nor do you have to be a Young Film Programmer. We strive to make our resources available to everyone regardless of region or experience. If you’d like to know more about opportunities or guidance, or about joining the YFN please email us. The Young Film Network South East is supported by BFI Film Academy with funding from the National Lottery.
