    UK FILM COUNCIL SHORT FILM COMPLETION FUND 2006/07 LAUNCHES

    The UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund (NCF) is now inviting individual filmmakers and production companies to apply to the 2006/07 Completion Fund. The fund is part of the New Cinemas Fund's programme to enable directors and producers to push their creative boundaries, develop new talent and to invest in short films that illustrate unique ideas and an innovative approach.

    Researchers at Aberystwyth University are tackling a set of controversial but important questions, at the request of the British Board of Film Classification. A team of film researchers, led by Professor Martin Barker, is studying the ways audiences understand and respond to films that include scenes of sexual violence.

    FILM STREET A NEW FREE INTERACTIVE WEBSITE FOR PRIMARY AGED CHILDREN

    Film Street is a new exciting, fun website for six to nine-year-olds, designed to unlock imaginations, introduce the joys of film and encourage expression through filmmaking. The website, which went live last month, is full of interactive activities, fresh movie-making ideas, expert advice and endless hours of learning enjoyment plus downloadable teaching and learning activities mapped to the curriculum.
