London Children’s Film Festival
The London Children's Film Festival was launched in November 2005 and enjoyed its third succesful year in 2007. Each year, over 9/10 days, thousands of children, young people and their families enjoy a world-class film programme from all over the world. The line up is a mix of films, workshops, events and hands-on film fun. The film programme includes previews and premieres, new world cinema, documentaries, archive titles, shorts, films made by young people and a sing-a-long-a favourite film!
This year's festval was held from 17 – 25 November 2007 and featured more than 20 new and classic films from across the globe — from Italy and Iran and from Germany to Japan. Films were screened at the Barbican and 10 partner cinemas across London, accompanied by an exciting range of activities and workshops. It was run and programmed by the Barbican, Film London and the ICO.
"the London Children's Film Festival is a step in the right direction. Let's hope it becomes part of a wider movement to open kids' eyes to the true wonders of the world of film" Mark Kermode, the Observer 12.11.06
