What do we do?

The ICO works in association with independent cinemas, film festivals, film societies and national agencies.

Our primary aims are to:

  • Promote diversity in exhibition content, audience and location.
  • Develop a culturally-led approach to an economically sustainable independent exhibition sector.
  • Provide access to industry leading best-practice exhibitor training.

Our key activities are:

The ICO is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. It is governed by a board of trustees.

The ICO is funded by the BFI, Arts Council England and Skillset.
